Elaborate security arrangements in view of Mayawati's visit
Bhopal, Feb 9 (UNI) Elaborate security arrangements have been made in view of arrival of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati in the state capital tomorrow.
Official sources confirmed that two senior IPS officers from Uttar Pradesh had held discussions with senior police and administrative officials regarding security preparations for the BSP supremo.
Political pundits believe that Ms Mayawati, who came to power in Uttar Pradesh with the help of social engineering, has set her eye on Madhya Pradesh.
Ms Mayawati would address a public rally at Lal Parade ground in the state capital tomorrow. She will arrive here in a special aircraft and leave for venue in a special helicopter.
Security arrangements had been cited as the cause behind the BSP supremo reaching the venue in a helicopter instead of reaching by road.
State Police headquarters have scotched speculations of Ms Mayawati arriving here this evening.
A senior state police headquarters officials said the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister would reach here tomorrow. She would be provided 'Z plus' security. Besides, she was bringing her own security with her.
Sources clarified that there was nothing that Ms Mayawati did not believe in security arrangements provided by the state government.
Tight security arrangements had been made with mutual coordination.
Party workers had got together to make the 'Sarva Samaj Bhai' rally of the BSP a successful event.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Labour Minister Badshah Singh alleged that BSP workers were being stopped at various places to make the rally unsuccessful.
