Demand for concessions for ITC, IS students
Tiruchirapalli, Feb 9 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Private Industrial Training Centre (ITC) and Industrial Schools Assocation (ISA) today urged the state Government to extend all concessions to students from backward classes, studying in private ITCs and Industrial Schools (ISs), on par with the Government Industrial Training Institutes (ITI).
Briefing reporters on the resolutions adopted at the Association's meeting held here today, ISA state unit president K Sivakumar and Secretary T P Dinakaran said it had appealed to the Centre and State governments to ensure supply of question papers in Tamil for the NCVT all-India technical examinations, instead of issuing them only in Hindi and English.
The meeting also demanded that the state government must extend concessions and allocate lands for private ITC and industrial schools. The meeting sought interest free loans to develop infrastructure facilities.
The resolution demanded priority for the students from private ITCs and ISs in appointments in government departments like TNEB, TWAD, Corporations and Municipalities.
Complaint cells must be set up to redress the grievances of students.
Another resolution demanded recognition for all the ITCs and ISs, which obtained temporary recognition five years back.
