Bihar CM condoles the death of Baba Amte

Patna, Feb 9 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar condoled the death of noted social worker and Magsaysay award winner Murlidhar Devas alias Baba Amte at his ashram in Maharashatra today.

In a message, Mr Kumar describing the passing away of Baba Amte as an 'irreparable loss to the country', said he will also be remembered for his ''total dedication and untiring efforts to provide succour to leprosy patients.'' Recalling Baba Amte's immense contribution to the society, especially for the poor and downtrodden, Mr Kumar said his selfless work was conferred with several national and international awards, including the country's second highest civilian honour 'Padmabibhusan' besides the Raman Magsaysay award, Shankardas Birla International award and the Templeton award.

He also expressed his heartfelt sympathy to the members of the bereaved family and to his innumerable followers.
