Beautician aims to make better record

Bangalore, Feb 9 (UNI) In an attempt to improve her own timing, Limca record holder and beautician Uma Jayakumar will undertake 180 minutes non-stop bridal makeup for 50-55 brides in the city on February 11.

Talking to newspersons here today, the beautician said she would do the bridal makeup at a mass marriage programme, organised by trustees of the Banasankari Temple.

''I will do it free of cost as a social service and this will be my wedding gift to all the young brides,'' she said.

Ms Jayakumar, who had earned a nick name 'One Minute Uma,' uses single hairpin to make one hair style. In 2004, she had performed the hairstyle in 30 seconds, which earned her an entry into Limca Book of Records and in 2005, she, in just seven seconds completed it.
