AITUC urges govt to protect textile mills

Puducherry, Feb 9 (UNI) AITUC leader V S Abishegam today urged the territorial administration to take immediate steps to protect the existing textile mills, including the Anglo-French Textile mills.

In a statement here, Mr Abishegam urged the administration to modernise the mills and employ local youths.

Compared to the 5,000 to 6,000 small and medium mills in Tamil Nadu, there were only less than ten mills in Puducherry, he said.
