Aircraft makes emergency landing at Chennai airport
Chennai, Feb 9 (UNI) A Tirupati-Delhi Indian flight via Hyderabad, with 112 passengers on board, made an emergency landing at the Airport here today after it developed a technical snag midair.
Airport sources said the A-320 aircraft took off from the Tirupati airport at 1450 hrs when the pilot noticed a technical snag which could create problems while landing.
As there was no facility at Hyderabad airport to rectify the fault, an SOS was given to the Air Traffic Control of Chennai airport, which was the nearest destination.
Special arrangements were made for emergency landing and the aircraft after being airborne for an hour landed at 1550 hrs.
All the passengers were alighted and were accommodated in another A-320 aircraft, which left for Hyderabad enroute to Delhi at 1710 hrs, the sources added.
