Kolkata, Feb 08 (UNI) With the withdrawal of the characterisitic winter chill from the city and its adjoining areas, Kolkatans today experienced a warm and humid day, as the mercury rose several degrees above the normal level.
The Alipore Met department recorded the minimum temperature for the day at 19.4 degrees Celsius, three degrees above the normal level while the maximum was 29 degrees Celsius.
The maximum relative humidity was high at 90 per cent.
The Met sources forecast a partly cloudy sky with light drizzles over isolated parts of the state and no significant changes in the minimum and maximum temperatures during the next 24 hours.
