Deshmukh meets Sonia over migrant's row

New Delhi, Feb 8, 2008 : Chief of western Maharashtra state, Vilasrao Deshmukh met with Sonia Gandhi, president of India's ruling Congress party in the national capital New Delhi on Thursday February 7th.

Deshmukh's meeting with his party chief came amid a simmering row over domestic migrants in Mumbai, provincial capital of Maharashtra. Deshmukh said that all the migrants in Maharashtra were very much part of the state and their safety was the responsibility of the provincial government.
