Two BJP workers expelled for challenging party chief
Agartala, Feb 8 (UNI) The BJP national council has decided to expel two activists of the Tripura state committee for seeking judicial intervention against alleged manipulation in the election of party president last year.
The party state committee officials told newsmen here today, the two members moved lower court, challenging the election of present party president Nilmani Deb.
They would be expelled for six years because they violated the party constitution and discussed the party matter in other fora, said party nationalcouncil member Harendra Pratap and added that they made irreparable damage of the party ahead of election.
Earlier, a local court had directed the party not to engage Mr Deb in any political activity, stating his appointment was not legal and his participation in the election itself was illegal.
