Three LeT militants killed in Poonch

Jammu, Feb 8 (UNI) Three militants of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit were today gunned down by the security forces in tehsil Mendhar of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir, an official spokesman here said.

The receiving party of 39 Rashtriya Rifles was on its way towards Line of Control (LOC) in village Chattral of tehsil Mendhar and gunned down three LeT militants this afternoon.

''The troops had a specific information about the presence of militants, who were hiding in 'Dhok' (natural cave) after heavy snowfall,'' official spokesman said asserting, ''the troops were fired upon, which was retaliated and three of the hiding militants were eliminated.'' One of the militants has been identified as Abu Tala while identities of two are yet to be ascertained. ''Three AK 47 rifles, four grenades and three wireless sets were recovered from the slain militants,'' he added.
