Raheja Group keen to set up IT Park in Orissa
Bhubaneswar, Feb 08 (UNI) The K Raheja Group has evinced keen interest in setting up a Rs 1000 crore IT park in Orissa and sought 100 acres of land close to the Info City to go ahead with the project.
Orissa Information Technology Minister S N Patra told newsmen here that Raheja Group President Neel C.Raheja and his delegation met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and made a presentation on the proposed project.
The Raheja Group was keen to have a joint venture project in the IT hub which would provide at least 10,000 employment opportunities in the first phase.
The Minister said the Company was willing to make more investment in the IT sector provided the government offered him more land.
The Group which has the expertise in infrastructure development, power and tourism, proposed to the government to set up a 50 MW power project in the state.
Sources said the Chief Minister had directed the officials to take the Raheja Group business delegation to the various locations in the city for identification of the land to set up the IT hub.
The proposed IT park would be established on the line of the IT Park set up in Hyderabad by the company,according to its Director K Rabindranath.
