Police officers transferred in Dinhata firing aftermath

Siliguri, Feb 08 (UNI) Altogether two senior police officers were today transferred as the administration took up steps to penalise those responsible for the Dinhata firing on February six, in which at least six persons were killed.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Anil Kumar said the Coochbehar DSP, Crime, Meghlal Sarkar, who was leading the police contingent at Dinhata, was transferred to Siliguri as Personal Assistant to the North Bengal IGP.

He will be replaced by Coochbehar DSP Indra Chakravarty with immediate effect.

Similarly, Dinhata police station inspector in-charge Sudhangshu Roy was transferred as Coochbehar DIB Inspector.

He will be replaced by Coochbehar DIB Inspector Bijon Kumar.
