Jhabua, MP, Feb 8 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today lavished praise on Railway Minister Lalu Prasad by describing as a miracle the bringing of the Railway out of the red and garnering of a Rs 45,000-crore profit.
''The Railway, which was in loss for years, was brought into profit in four years,'' Dr Singh said here after laying the foundation stone for two railway projects together costing Rs 1,286 crore.
Expressing happiness over the expansion and development of the railway network, he claimed that Mr Prasad was wholeheartedly toiling to expand the network from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.
''History tells us that the engine of development has reached the corners of the country through the medium of railway lines. I hope that Mr Prasad will continue to manage the ministry with the same enthusiasm,'' the Prime Minister said.
