Noted light music exponent H K Narayan passes away

Bangalore, Feb 8 (UNI) Noted musician and 'sugama sangeeta' (light music) exponent H K Narayan died after a prolonged illness here this morning.

He was 73.

Narayan had worked with All India Radio in Mysore and Bangalore as a music director for nearly four decades.

Known for blending traditional and modern music, Narayan, a native of Holenarashipur in Hassan district of Karnataka, had received several awards, including the Pamba award.

The funeral will take place here in the afternoon, family sources said.
