No alternative to parliamentary democracy , Chatterjee

New Delhi, Feb 8 (UNI) Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee met the very first batch of five Interns selected for the Lok Sabha Internship Programme in Parliament House today.

Welcoming the Interns, Mr Chatterjee said that the Internship Programme would give them an insight into the functional dynamics of Parliament. He also emphasized that the Interns should make use of the programme to study the role of Parliament in our democratic polity and how this institution has been addressing the concerns of the people.

Observing that there is no alternative to parliamentary democracy, the Speaker stressed the need of good governance so that the people take pride in our representative institutions.
