NHPC, Mindtree bags BML Munjal award

New Delhi, Feb 8 (UNI) State owned National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Ltd (NHPC) and IT major Mindtree Consulting have been adjudged the winners of the prestigious BML Munjal awards during the Third Mindmine Summit here today.

NHPC won the award under PSU category and Bangalore based IT firm won the same in the private sector category which were given away by Chief Minister Sheila Dixit.

Recipient of the award Chairman and MD (NHPC) S K Garg said, ''It's a great honour bestowed on NHPC family, a thirty two year old company with a 100 per cent Government ownership. It is indeed a pleasure to receive coveted BML Munjal award on behalf of 13,000 dedicated employees of whom many also work in inaccessible areas and very difficult terrains.'' Delighted at receiving the awards for Excellence in Learning and Development in the private sector CMD (Mindtree Consulting) Ashok Soota said, ''We are a young international IT consulting organization, and it is encouraging for our 5,500 'mindtree minds' to receive an honor like this.'' BML Munjal awards for Excellence in Learning and Development were instituted to acknowledge and recognise companies who have invested in people, and benefited from it. The companies awarded have consistently used training, learning and development as a significant means to compete in changing business environments.
