India takes up matter with Nepal

New Delhi, Feb 8 (UNI) India has taken up with Nepal the matter of the deportation of Kidney racket kingpin, Dr Amit Kumar, and expressed hope that he would be handed over to Indian authorities at the earliest.

''The matter has been taken up by the CBI with the Government of Nepal through our Embassy in Kathmandu,'' an External Affairs Ministry spokesman said in reply to a question.

The spokesman said given the nature of the case and the close cooperation between legal and security authorities of India and Nepal, India expected that Dr Amit would be handed over to the Indian authorities at the earliest,'' the spokesman said.
