Father-son killed in road mishap

Kaushambi, Feb 8 (UNI) A father and son were killed and four others of the family critically injured after the car they were travelling in was hit by a truck in Saini area here today.

The accident occurred when Rajnish Mishra (38) of Kanpur was returning along with his family after having a holy dip in Sangam, police said.

Their car was hit by a speeding truck near Kaisariya crossing.

Rajnish and his son Mayank (6) died on the spot in the accident, while his two daughters Indu (8), Richa (14), wife Rani Devi (28) and brother Avdhesh (45) sustained injuries.

The injured are recuperating in hospital.

The bodies had been sent for post-mortem.
