Fake soyabean oil unit busted in Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 8 (UNI) The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Delhi Police today seized thousands of pouches of duplicate 'Fortune' soyabean oil during a raid in the national capital.

It said 11,076 one litre pouches of duplicate 'Fortune' soyabean oil along with 91 packing rolls each weighing 21 kg, 7020 duplicate boxes and 8000 paper wrappers were seized on specific information of infringement being carried out of the original manufacturer.

Additional Commissioner of Police, EOW of the Crime Branch, S B K Singh said the seizure was made from a locality in Paschim Vihar in North West Delhi.

One person, Dayanand Gupta, who had set up the fake unit for preparing the infringed Fortune soyabean oil, was arrested under the copyright act, he added.

''The happy family logo and the green strip of Fortune was being infringed,'' Mr Singh said.
