Cookie Man comes to Kolkata, 75 more outlets within 5 years

Kolkata, Feb 8 (UNI) Australian Foods(I) Private Limited, an Indo-Australian JV, today ventured into the Eastern market with the launch of 'Cookie Man' here.

Talking to mediapersons, the company's president Pattabhi Rama Rao said they will set up 75 more franchises within the next five years in the country and will open two more shops here by March 31.

''After opening the first store in Melbourne in 1958, it launched its first at Chennai in January 2001,'' he said adding that the market has now expanded to Bangalore, Hyderabad, Gurgaon, Noida, Mumbai, Indore, Pune, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Ludhiana, Lucknow, Mangalore, Delhi, Vijayawada and Jam Nagar, he added.

''We have our presence in 17 cities in India with 29 points of sale and this is the 26th store,'' Mr Rao said adding they were looking forward to serve the people of the city with varieties of fresh bakery items, he said.

''We also have a cookie training centre in Chennai and are targetting to set up another either in Hyderabad or Pune,'' he said.

The cookies, made from the finest ingredients, ensures to meet stringent global quality standards adding that the dough, toppings and related materials are produced in the Cookie Man Commissary in Chennai, he added.

With more than 50 varieties of cookies, including Choc Chip, Coffee Walnut, Brandy Snap, Honey and Oats, Coconut Macaroon, Shortbread, Peanut and Ginger, the famous Australian "Anzac" cookie would be available here.

''We also have an unique range of gifting solutions designed to please our customers,''Mr Rao informed.
