Body of college student recovered

Samastipur, Feb 08 (UNI) The police today recovered the bullet-riddled body of a college student from the heart of this north Bihar town creating panic among the local people.

Police sources here said on being informed by an anonymous caller a police team rushed to the busy Ateran Square and recovered the body lying in a pool of blood in a deserted spot.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim,identifed as one Javed Khan,a first year student of the local college,was killed by the assailants somewhere else.Later his body was dumped in the city square.Gang rivalry was believed to be the possible reason behind the murder,the police added.

Mewnwhile,a police camp has been posted in the area to prevent any violence and give confidence to the panick-stricken people in the otherwise peaceful locality.
