A.P.V.N. Sarma appointed Shipping Secretary
New Delhi, Feb 8 (UNI) Mr A P V N Sarma, a 1974 batch IAS officer of the Andhra Pradesh cadre, has been appointed Shipping Secretary, Ministry of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways.
Mr Sarma succeeds Mr A K Mohapatra, who retired on January 31.
The appointment of Mr Sarma had already been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
He had earlier served in various capacities, including Special Chief Secretary, Social Welfare, Andhra Pradesh; and CMD of Sringaneri Coalfields Ltd.
