AP Governor to inaugurate 'Cancer CI-2008' meet
Hyderabad, Feb 8 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Governor N D Tiwari will inaugurate a two-day international meet ''Cancer CI-2008'' in the city tomorrow.
''The conference, organised by Apollo Cancer Institute, Hyderabad, The New York Medical College, US, and city-based Cure Foundation, will focus on enhancing knowledge and skills of our doctors with the latest global developments in cancer care,'' Apollo Cancer Institute Director Vijay Anand Reddy, said in a release here today.
Union Women and Child Development Minister Renuka Chowdhary would launch the 'National Apollo Cancer Care Network' on the occasion.
The network would link all Apollo Cancer Institutes in the country through telemedicine and assist in discussion about patient care on day-to-day basis.
Around 1,500 delegates from India and abroad would participate in the conference, which would be co-hosted by the Association of Radiation Oncologists of India (AROI), Indian Society of Oncology (ISO), Indian Society of Medical and Pediatric Oncology (ISMPO) and Indian Cooperative Oncology Network (ICON), the release added.
