6 members of a family among 10 killed, 32 rescued in Kashmir

Srinagar, Feb 8 (UNI) Six members of a family were among ten people killed, while thirty-two others were rescued after their houses were damaged in snow avalanches in the Kashmir valley.

With this about 26 people, including a Norwegian woman skier, porters and soldiers, were buried alive under avalanches during the past one month after heavy snowfall.

Official sources said six members, including women and children, were killed when their house was swept away by a huge avalanche at Path Haran Shopian in south Kashmir.

Only one member of the family, who was outside the house survived.
