'Ooty' voted 'No 1 hill station' in India
Chennai, Feb 7 (UNI) The summer resort Udhagamandalam, known as 'Queen of Hill Stations' has been voted as the 'number one hill station' in the country by 'Outlook Traveller', a monthly magazine of the 'Outlook' news magazine group.
An official release here today said 'Outlook Traveller' has conducted a survey with a questionnaire in its November and December 2007 issues. It also posted them in their website.
Ooty, as Udhagamandalam is still popular, got 17.1 per cent votes and bagged the first position.
Another popular hill station in Tamil Nadu Kodaikanal secured the seventh position with 7.9 per cent votes.
The trophy would be formally handed over to Tamil Nadu Tourism and Cultural Department, the release added.
