Islam stands for protection of women's rights: Madhani

Kochi, Feb 7 (UNI) People's Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman Abdul Nassar Madhani said the religion of Islam stands for spread of knowledge and protection of women's rights.

Releasing a travelogue on Saudi Arabia by noted writer Zacharia at international book fair here, Mr Madhani said, '' Holy book Quran underlines the importance of spread of knowledge and ecouraged reading.'' Mr Madhani said Islam believed in providing freedom to women and protecting their rights.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Zacharia said the book presented his experiences in Saudi Arabia, where he went with a lot of fear and doubts.
