Glasses of Anil Deshmukh's car smashed

Nagpur, Feb 7 (UNI) A group of miscreants smashed the glasses of the car of Maharashtra Minister for Public Works Anil Deshmukh and allegedly roughed up one person during a meeting in the district today.

The miscreants pelted stones at Mr Deshmukh's car and smashed its glasses while the Minister and other functionaries were attending a meeting being held in connection with a forthcoming election to Nagpur Zilla Parishad (ZP) at village Tarsa, about 45 kilometres from here, this evening, a member of Mr Deshmukh's staff said.

They also assaulted one person, identified only as Sathawane, who was present at the meeting, out of old enmity, he said.

Mr Deshmukh was attending the meeting along with functionaries of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and the Congress, he added.
