CPI Gen Secy condemns Delhi LG's statement on North Indians
New Delhi, Feb 7 (UNI) CPI General Secretary A B Bardhan today condemned Delhi Lt Governor Tejinder Khanna's statement labelling north Indians as people who took pride in violating the law.
''Law is equal for everybody...this statement of the Lt Governor is unbecoming of the high office he holds,'' Mr Bardhan told reporters here.
He wondered how anyone could say anything like this against the people of a particular region. ''Catch hold of those violating the law,'' he added.
Mr Khanna's controversial statement came amid violence against North Indians in Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra following Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Chief Raj Thackeray's remarks against them.
