Chennai law students express solidarity with arrested counterparts
Chennai, Feb 7 (UNI) About 50 students of the Government Law College today staged a demonstration in front of the college here, condemning the arrest of 78 students of the Salem Law College yesterday.
Police said they were condemning the arrest of the Salem Law College students when they arrived to take out a procession to the state secretariat and submit a memorandum to protest the Centre's decision to provide merit-based scholarship to Adi Dravidar students.
The Centre had recently announced that the Adi Dravidar students had to secure a minimum of 60 per cent marks for availing scholarships in Central government educational institutions.
