'Azadi Express' reaches Vijayawada
Vijayawada, Feb 7 (UNI) 'Azadi Express', an exhibition train commemorating the 150th year of the First War of Independence and 60 years of Independence, arrived at Vijayawada railway station, today.
A large number of people, including children, gathered at the station to have a glimpse of the exhibition train.
The train with 12 coaches would help the visitors visualise the glorious moments of Indian history like the First War of Independence and several other freedom struggles, through a wide range of rare photographs and paintings. Experienced guides from the Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity (DAVP) of the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting would assist the visitors understand the pictures.
The Indian Railways, in association with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, had been running the train throughout the country.
The train, which chugged out on September 28 last year, would wind up its journey on May 11 next at the national capital after traversing through the length and breadth of the country. It would leave for Rajahmundry from here at 2300 hrs on February nine.
