AP Govt appoints 1,224 doctors in rural PHCs
Hyderabad, Feb 7 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Health Minister S Chandrasekhar today announced appointment of 1,224 doctors to man the Public Health Centres (PHC) in rural areas.
Talking to reporters here, he said the government would soon come out with a special package of incentives to retain the doctors in rural areas.
Stating that the government would soon come out with a second list to appoint 200 more doctors in PHCs, he said under no circumstances, they would be allowed to go on deputation.
Andhra Pradesh Family welfare Commissioner Anil Punetha said the state had brought the fertility rate down to 1.8 per cent by performing eight lakh family planning operations this year.
