AIFB thanked people for their support to bandh call

New Delhi, Feb 7 (UNI) The All India Forward Bloc (AIFB) today thanked the people for their overwhelming support to the party's nationwide protest and the 24-hour Bengal bandh call yesterday.

The AIFB's national secretary G Devarajan in a press statement said it was shameful that a Left Front Government was behind the firing against a Left party which was also part of the Left Front Movement.

He said the AIFB is part of the left front. If the Left Front fails to achieve the political goal of the left movement and deviates from its political responsibilities, the AIFB will not remain with the Left Front.

Yesterday's Bengal bandh was in protest against the police firing on AIFB activists at Dinhata in Cooch Behar on Tuesday where at least five people lost their lives and several people were injured. The AIFB workers were protesting against the SEZ policy of the governemnt.
