7,000 litres illegal spirit seized in Kerala

Kannur, Feb 7: The excise police today seized about 7,000 litres of illegal spirit, valued at Rs 21 lakh, from the Kilianthara checkpost on the Kerala-Karnataka border.

The spirit was concealed under onions in a lorry that was heading towards Kozhikode from Pune, police said. The lorry driver Rajesh Kumar Sha was arrested, police added.
