Kancheepuram, Feb 6 (UNI) About 500 women representing 15 Self-Help Groups (SHG) today laid a seige, demanding shifting of a Tamil Nadu Spirit and Marketing Corporation(TASMAC) shop at Sengadu village near Sriperambadur in this district of Tamil Nadu here.

Police said the SHG resorted to agitation alleging that many people in an inebriated condition were often hurling abuses at the residents of the area, especially women.

Vidulai Chiruthai Katchi(VCK) member Gopinath and a police team rushed to the spot and assured them that the shop would soon be shifted out of that place.
