UPA's appeasement encouraging ultras: Advani
Jabalpur, Feb 6 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate L K Advani today alleged that the ''appeasement policy'' of the Centre's United Progressive Alliance (UPA) regime had made terrorists feel that they could operate unbridled in India.
While addressing a public meeting at Garrison Ground here to mark the beginning of his Vijay Sankalp Yatra, the former deputy Prime Minister fired a broadside at Prime Minister Manmohan Singh over the problem of terrorists, Maoists and Bangladeshi infiltrators.
''The serious endeavours against these problems during the National Democratic Alliance government's tenure are in stark contrast to the UPA rule when no attempt is being made,'' said the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha.
Mr Advani asked Dr Singh to answer four queries.
''How many militant hideouts were busted from 2004 to 2008 in India? Why has Parliament attack convict Mohammad Afzal Guru not been hanged yet? How many accused were arrested in the wake of ultra attacks at Ayodhya, Varanasi, Jammu, Mumbai and other places? To what extent has the UPA regime implemented Supreme Court directives regarding infiltration in Asom?'' he asked.
