Tripura polls: Cong gives Sabroom to PDS
New Delhi, Feb 6 (UNI) Bowing to the demand of its alliance partner, the Congress today gave the Sabroom seat to the People's Democratic Socialist (PDS) Party to contest the February 23 Tripura Assembly elections.
The Congress nominated Sabda Kumar Jamatia as its candidate for the Krishnapur seat, CWC permanent invitee Oscar Fernandes said in a press release.
The PDS had threatened to fight alone unless two seats - Nalchar and Sabroom - were given to it.
