Orissa seeks Rs 200 crore corpus fund for NREG
Bhubaneswar, Feb 06 (UNI) Orissa government has asked the centre to provide a sum of Rs 200 crore to create a revolving corpus fund for the speedy implementation of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme in the state.
The state Pachayati Raj Department has written a letter to the Union Rural Development ministry requesting for allocation of funds for the purpose recently.
Director Special Project Saswat Mishra said the implementation of the NREGS programme was being delayed as the fund could not reach the districts in time.
Mr Mishra said had there been a corpus fund the money could be diverted immediately to the districts to continue the work without any disruption.
