Legislators should not interfere in administration, Dr Halim
Ranchi, Feb 06 (UNI) West Bengal Speaker Hashim Abdul Halim today expressed concern over the growing tendency of various political parties making use of mafia groups and muscle power to win elections.
Dr Halim said the foundation of our system was getting weaker leading to rise in terrorism in the country.
He was addressing a workshop on rights, duty and conduct of legilators held here as a key speaker.
Dr Halim urged them to be aware of the fact the legislators' duty was not interfere in administrative matter, but to bring to their attention to the people's problems.
Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda graced the occasion as chief guest. Jharkhand Speaker Alamgir Alam said the MLAs should act as a link between people and the government.
People expect a lot from their representatives and though it was not easy to fulfil all yet legislators should selflessly work towards that direction.
Ministers, leader of Opposition Arjun Munda and majority of the MLAS attended the workshop.
