Eight killed in Pakistan army chopper crash
Islamabad, Feb 6 (UNI) A Pakistan Army helicopter crashed near Tanai in the restive South Waziristan, killing all eight people, including a Major General and two Brigadiers, on board.
The crash happened on Wana Jandola Road at 2:40 pm (local time).
Chief military spokesman Major General Athar Abbas cited a technical problem as reason for the crash.
Those killed in the crash include seven officers -- Major General Javed Sultan, Brigadier Afzal Cheema, Brigadier Saeed Khan, Lieutenant Colonel Omar Farooq, Captain Shehzad, Captain Naveed (Pilot), Captain Haroon (Pilot) and one Non Commissioned Officer, Crew Chief Naik Amir.
