Dreaded criminal killed in a police encounter in North Bihar
Bagaha, Feb 06 (UNI) One member of a notorious inter-state criminal gang was shot dead by a joint police force of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh at Bhainsaha Gandak Diara in West Chamaparan District of North Bihar bordering Nepal tonight.
Superintendent of police Vikash Vaibhav here said acting on a tip-off the joint team of UP and Bihar police raided the hideout of the notorious Rudal Yadav gang in the remote village.
On being challenged the gang members opened fire which was immediately retaliated by the police force and a clash ensued killing one Bhola Paswan, a dredsed criminal, on the spot.
A 14 year old teenager-Balram Choudhury- who was abducted last month from Sojhighat under Bagaha police station in the district was rescued by the police from the spot, the SP said adding that a catche of arms and ammunition was also recovered from the hideout.
However, none other member of the gang could be arrested as all them fled under the cover of darkness after the encounter.
