11th National Conference on e-governance to begin tomorrow

Chandigarh, Feb 6 (UNI) Haryana is all set to host the two-day 11th National Conference on e-governance which begins at Panchkula, near here tomorrow.

Stating this here today, Haryana Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Electronics and Information Technology, P K Chaudhery said the conference, based on the theme 'Integrated Citizen Services--Issues and Challenges', would be attended by policy-makers, practitioners, industry leaders and academicians.

They would deliberate, interact and develop an actionable strategy for bringing in transparency and good governance, he added.

Union Minister for Communication and Information Technology A Raja will be the chief guest and will deliver the inaugural address.

During the Conference Mr Raja would also present the National Awards for e-Governance.

Haryana Governor, Dr A R Kidwai will preside over the inaugural session. Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda will address the delegates and also inaugurate an exhibition on e-Governance.

On the occasion, Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Mr Suresh Pachouri will release an e-readiness report.

Around 1500 delegates and dignitaries including Ministers, Chief Secretaries and Secretaries from Centre and various states are expected to attend the conference, which will be organised jointly by the Central government's Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Department of Information Technology and Haryana government's Department of Information Technology.
