Robbers flee with gold, silver idols from temple

Rajkot, Feb 5 (UNI) The Ganteshar-Nageshwar Jain Temple on Jamnagar road, about ten km from here, was robbed of gold and silver idols and cash amounting the total loss to Rs 6.37 lakh late last night.

According to police, the robbers broke open the lock of the temple and made away with gold and silver idols of Lord Parswanath, a gold coconut and Rs 30,000 cash.

The watchman of the temple and security persons were asleep when the miscreants committed the crime, police added.

Trustee of the temple Bharatbhai Mehtha lodged a complaint today with the police.
