Patan observes 'bandh' to condemn gangrape
Patan, Gujarat, Feb 5 (UNI) All commercial establishments and academic institutions remained closed here today to condemn the alleged gangrape of a girl by six teachers of her college.
The ''bandh'' was total and people came out on the roads to demand strict action against the culprits.
People from neighbouring towns and villages also arrived here in large numbers to express their solidarity with the victim.
The protestors ransaked public and private property and raised slogans against the rapists. The protestors also met the collector and submitted a memorandum.
Various political parties and non-political organisations and student bodies had given a call for today's bandh.
