MNS tirade against North Indians 'unconstitutional':Somnath
Mumbai, Feb 5 (UNI) Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee today said the sporadic incidents of violence, unleashed by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers against North Indians residing in the Metropolis, were condemnable and described it as 'unconstitutional'.
''Constitution empowers each citizen the right to live and work anywhere they wish to. I hope good sense prevails,'' Mr Chatterjee said while replying to questions by reporters on the MNS-SP clashes in the city after MNS chief Raj Thackeray targetted north Indians.
Referring to the issue of rights of sons of soil, he said in each state there are sons of soil. ''Half of Kolkata is non-Bengali.
Whom are you going to throw out and where. If this continues, what will remain of India,''he asked.
