High Tension industrial consumers to pay Rs 2 extra per unit
Chandigarh, Feb 5 (UNI) The Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has already allowed use of electricity during the peak load hours to the High Tension (HT) industrial consumers for which the consumers will be required to pay minimum Rs two extra per unit over and above the normal tariff.
The consumption of electricity during the peak load hours would be recorded on the basis of the formula circulated by the Nigam to the industries associations and other prominent organizations, an official spokesman today stated.
He said that the industrial consumers having electronic tri-vector meters can avail 10 percent electricity of the sanctioned contract demand during the peak load hours at the rate of Rs two extra per unit. In case, the consumption exceeds prescribed limits, the consumer will have to pay Rs 4 per unit extra on consuming electricity during the peak load period.
The spokesman also said that the continuous process industries require electricity round the clock to run the plant and had urged the Nigam to allow consumption of electricity during the peak load hours.
The Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission (HERC) has also approved these extra charges.
He also said that HERC has allowed facility of separate Non Domestic Supply connections to industrial consumers for lighting purposes upto 5 KW and the same also stands notified by the Nigam.
