Govt to hike reward, bata to all elected members
Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 5 (UNI) The Kerala Government has decided to increase the honorarium and bata of all the elected members in the local bodies, Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan said today.
Addressing reporters here after the cabinet meeting, he said the Cabinet had decided to hike the honorarium and bata of all elected members in the local body institutions with retrospective effect form September one, 2007.
Mr Achuthanandan said the increase in the honorarium would be between Rs 300 to 500, while the members would get increase of maximum Rs 15 in their bata.
The Cabinet had also decided to constitute a sub-committee, with Finance Minister T M Thomas Isaac as its convener and Electricity Minister and Water Resources Minister as members to realise the dues in water and electricity charges due from Government institutions, he said.
Mr Achuthandan said the Cabinet had also decided to appoint Mr Sanjay Kaul, Mr M V Mohandas, Mr K T James, as Collectors in Thiruvananthapuram, Malappuram and Kasaragod districts.
Thiruvananthapuram district collector N Ayyappan had been appointed as Kerala state Film Development Corporation Managing Director, he added.
