Flight develops snag in midair, returns to airport

Chennai, Feb 5 (UNI) A Madurai-bound flight of Paramount Airways, with 87 passengers on board, returned to airport here this evening after it developed a technical snag midair.

Airport sources said the flight, which left for Madurai at 2010 hrs, returned at 2040 hrs.

All the passengers were evacuated and were taken in another flight to Madurai at 2130 hrs.

M K Azhagiri, elder son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, was one of the passengers, the sources added.
