Dalit boys stripped for stealing tomotoes in TN
Theni, Tamil Nadu, Feb 5 (UNI) In a shocking incident, two Dalit boys were allegedly stripped, tied and beaten up severely for stealing tomatoes from a farm land at Bomminaickenpatti in the district.
The victims P Nagalingam (16), his younger brother P Perumalsamy (10) and their friend Ricky Kevin (14) had allgedly stolen some tomatoes, while going to school a couple of days ago.
On noticing this, farmland owner Syed Diwan (55) and his son S Naushad Hussain (24) caught hold of Nagalingam and Ricky Kevin and stripped them off their uniforms. They were, later, tied to a tree and beaten up. However, Perumalsamy managed to escape.
Fearing punishment from parents, the boys kept the ordeal a secret. However, the incident came to light today after Perumalsamy narrated it to his father.
On a complaint from parents, police have registered cases against the accused.
