Cold wave condition claims one life in Patna

Patna, Feb 5 (UNI) The current cold wave condition in Bihar has claimed one life, the first victim of the winter season, official sources said today.

The 35-year-old rickshaw puller, identified as Nandaram, was found lying unconscious on the street of Kankarbagh locality, near here this morning.

When he was taken to the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), by his friends and fellow rickshaw pullers, the doctors at the emergency ward pronounced him ''brought dead''.

He might have collapsed last night by hypothermia, a condition of having an abnormally low body temperature.

After a biting cold last night, the sun rose brightly today giving a bit rise of mercury in Patna and in the neighbouring districts.
