Bomb hoax in city school creates panic
Vijayawada, Feb 5 (UNI) An anonymous phone call, stating that a bomb had been planted in a private school at Krishnalanka here today, created panic among the students and teachers before it turned out to be a hoax.
Police said an employee of the school received the call this morning, threatening that a bomb would explode on the school premises at any time. She immediately informed the matter to the Principal, who called the police control room.
Police rushed to the spot and evacuated 1,000 students of the school to the playground. The bomb detection squad with sniffer dogs conducted a thorough check, but could not recover any explosive material, the police added.
